Rail Project June 2023 celebration event: We won the KS1 competition and we won best communicators. We had to be interviewed by a panel of engineers and then demonstrate how our vehicle moved.

Science Ambassador's Meeting: We discussed British Science Week and what we wanted to do for it. We have decided that we are going to hold a 'Dress up as a Scientist' Day and take part in the annual Science poster competition. The theme this year is 'Connections' that appear in the world of science they like and be in with the chance of winning an array of prizes!

Severn Trent Assembly November 2022: We learnt all about the important job Severn Trent do and why we need to look after our wonderful water!

Here are some of our science displays for our pupils to use as an learning aid, it will be with the help and support of the science ambassadors to find appropriate texts and models from the science cupboard to enhance their classes learning. They will also change their displays to reflect the current unit they are studying.

SCIENCE AMBASSADOR MEETING 2 27.1.22 Today we discussed monitoring Science homework challenges and how they could collect evidence from their class, giving them the responsibility to choose two children in their class to receive the 'Scientist award' for fantastic science work during this half term and finally exploring the new lunch time science in a pocket resources that they will take in turns to use in leading science activities during lunch time. They loved the new resources and were excited to get started. Great meeting, well done all.

WINTER STEAM PROJECT WORK: Examples of some completed tasks by pupils...
AUTUMN 2: PUPILS HAVE BEEN WORKING SO HARD IN SCIENCE THIS HALF TERM AND HERE IS A SNAP SHOT OF SOME OF THEIR WORK...
Year 6- Pig's Heart dissection. Year 6 had the best science lesson with Mrs Healy, they had to identify, draw and name the main parts of the human circulatory systemwith practical examples of heart dissection to support recording (pigs heart). There was such a buzz coming from the classroom and it was great to hear the children's enthusiasm about their learning.
Our Science Ambassadors had their first meeting to discuss their role and they were given their first task. They have to monitor the Science display in their classroom. They are checking for key vocabulary being displayed, suitable texts to use in class, models and equipment and lots more.

WHOLE SCHOOL SCIENCE WEEK JUNE 2021: EYFS and Year 1 made chromatography butterflies, Year 3 made playdough, Year 4 a bionic hand, Year 5 made egg parachutes and Year 6 made bath bombs! OLOL loves science!!
