Open Mornings 2024/2025
We would like to invite families who have an interest in sending their child to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School Reception or Nursery Class in September 2025, to join us for an Open Morning session with the Head Teacher on one of the following dates:
Friday 18th October 2024 from 9.30 - 11.00 am
or
Saturday 9th November at 9.00 - 10.00 am
and
We may have an additional session if there is demand
Each session will consist of a short meeting with the Head Teacher, a tour of the school to allow you to imagine your child becoming p[art of our school family, an opportunity to ask questions and then we will provide you with the application packs necessary to apply for Nursery or Reception Class. Parents wishing to join the session do not need to book but should arrive on time for the welcome from the Head Teacher (Office staff will welcome parents from 10 minutes before the session). We invite families to look through our website and X feed (@ourladyoflourd1) to find out more about the school. The school will be operational on 1 of those dates and we expect parents to be mindful of the school working as usual and also following all instructions given by staff.
Joining OLOL in Nursery Class
As part of our induction to Nursery Class we issue parents with a handbook about life in OLOL Nursery Class (Year N - Conkers). If you have any questions about the content please contact the EYFS Manager, Miss Grant or the School Office who will redirect your enquiry. We have a Home-School Agreement and Parent Code of Conduct for you to read and direct new parents to the uniform page of the website for more useful information.
Joining OLOL in Reception Class
Joining our Nursery does not guarantee you a place in our Reception Class. You must make a new application to access a place in Year R.
When children come to OLOL, we issue parents with a handbook about life in OLOL Reception Class (Year R - Acorns). If you have any questions about the content please contact the EYFS Manager, Mrs Patrick or the School Office who will redirect your enquiry. We have a Home-School Agreement and Parent Code of Conduct for you to read and direct new parents to the uniform page of the website for more useful information.
Joining OLOL in Years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
If your child joins OLOL from another school, your time with us will start with a visit to see the school and an opportunity to meet the Head. This meeting is important so that your family understands what it means to join the OLOL Community and what our partnership will look like. This website and our school Twitter account will tell you all about being a pupil at OLOL and the many opportunities you will have. There are no induction booklets for other year groups but we do provide an annual sheet helping you to get ready for your new class (see below). Parents are expected to read our Home School Agreement, our Parent Code of Conduct and key policies (available on this website) before your child starts school with us. You accept our policies and procedures when you accept at place at OLOL.
