Partnerships at OLOL

University of Birmingham

We work closely with the University of Birmingham Education Department to support the training of PGCE and PGDipEd teachers. Each year we welcome up to 8 teachers to our school to work with our staff and children to develop the hands on experience that will support them in their future careers as teachers. Mrs David is involved in the work of the Lead Mentor group at the University to support trainees and the HT Advisory Group.

Newman University

We work closely with Newman University to support the training of PGCE and undergraduate trainee teachers. Each year we welcome up to 4 teachers to our school to work with our staff and children to develop the hands on experience that will support them in their future careers as teachers.

Catholic Primary Partnership 

We are members of the Catholic Primary Partnership, a group of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese that work together to access training, support for staff, Head teacher briefings etc. In addition, partnership with this organisation allows us to access opportunities for international projects in the EU. 

Association of Teachers of Catholic Religious Education

Some staff are members of this association that supports the training and development of RE teaching in schools.

Catholic Association of Teachers, Schools and Colleges

We are members of the Catholic Association of teachers, schools and colleges, a group that supports 60% of Catholic establishments in England and Wales.

National Literacy Trust

We are members of the National Literacy Trust which allows access to a large number of relevant resources and research materials to support the development of all aspects of language and literacy at OLOL. 

NAACE

We have staff membership of NAACE, the Education Technology Association, to allow us to keep the most up to date access to research, pedagogy and logistics to do with technology in school. We work with them to audit and assess the school against the NAACE IT Outcomes and are currently renewing our NAACE IT Award.

NACE

We are members of NACE to give our teachers access to research, support and materials for the provision of excellent educational opportunities for more able children.

PSHE Association

Our membership of this organisation allows us access to the most up to date information about PSHE, Mental Well-being and RSE curriculum matters. We closely follow the approved work schedule for PSHE at OLOL (while integrating RRSA and FBV).

Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC)

We have school membership of CLOtC as part of our continued work to develop outdoor and adventurous learning for OLOL children on our site and around the country. We are recently accredited with a LOtC Award. 

NASEN

The SENDCo and Head Teacher are members of nasen (National Association for Special Educational Needs) that allows us to access up to date CPD and research materials to help us improve opportunities for all pupils at OLOL.
