The Sign of the Cross

We are learning to make the Sign of the Cross. We touch our heads, hearts and shoulders to make a cross shape on our bodies.

We make this special prayer at the start and end of our prayers. We do this every time we talk to God.

Can you make the Sign of the Cross correctly?

Our Chaplains

Our Chaplains came to visit us from Year 6. They told us all about the prayer bag we can bring home. The bag has many lovely things we can use to share prayers with our families. We will take turns with the prayer bag.

O and V read us a story about Jesus too. They will visit us to pray, read stories and help us learn more about Jesus.

Thank you for helping us.

We are learning to sing Who Made the Twinkling Stars. Here are the words to help you at home.

Who made the twinkling stars,
The twinkling stars, the twinkling stars.
Who made the twinkling stars,
Our Father God.

Who made the birds that fly,
The birds that fly, birds that fly,
Who made the birds that fly,
Our Father God.

Who made the rolling seas,
The rolling seas, the rolling seas.
Who made the rolling seas,
Our Father God.

Who made you and me,
You and me, you & me.

Who made you and me,
Our Father God.

We added our own ideas:

Who made the stomping elephants.

Who made the flapping butterflies.

Who made the roaring tigers.

Who made the swimming fish.

Who made our families.

Who made the splashing sharks.

Who made the tall giraffes.

Who made the zebra spiders.

Who made spiky hedgehogs.

Who made the swirly fish.

Who made the jumping orcas.

Our Father God.

Our Father God.

Our Classroom Blessing

Deacon Tim came to bless our classroom and us with holy water. He explained that a blessing is a way to ask God to be with us and help us.

Thank you Deacon Tim for visiting us and praying for our year ahead with us.

Pupil Prepared Prayer in Year N

We are learning how to lead prayers. We gather together the things we need to help us - a colourful cloth, a crucifix, a candle and anything that can help us to think about our theme.

Our first prayer service was about Creation. We listened to the story of Creation, sang a hymn and thanked God for making the world.

Can you lead your family in prayer at home?

Welcome to our Nursery.

We are learning new prayers. Do you know our morning prayer?

Father in Heaven, you love me.

You are with me night and day.

I want to love you always,

in all I do and say.

I will try to please you Father,

bless me through the day.

Amen

We begin and end our prayers with the Sign of the Cross. Can you practise this at home?
