Classroom Blessing

We are very grateful to Deacon Tim who visited us this morning to bless us, our classroom and our prayer area.

Deacon Tim read scripture and wished us all prosperity, success and growth in faith for this year ahead. He then spent some time talking to the Confirmadi children about their chosen saints and the gifts & fruits of the Holy Spirit that they will be receiving in December.

Prayer Area & Display:

Creation & Covenant

Our prayer area and display for our first unit of RE is a beautiful landmark in our classroom.

This half-term we are learning all about Creation and how we can fulfil God’s will, being good Stewards and caring for our common home with faith, love and compassion.

We have looked in detail at the story of Genesis 2 and explored artwork which depicts the wonder God has given us.

Pupil Prepared Prayer

J and G delivered their PPP this morning, all about Creation. J read an extract from Genesis, which we looked at in detail this week in our RE lessons.

G led us in prayer all about the wonder of Creation.

Celebration of the Word

E, O and C led us in our first Celebration of the Word of this academic year! Thank you to our Liturgy Leads for celebrating the Word with us this morning. We looked at our CTS focus for this half-term and discussed how we could be Stewards this year.

Welcome to Year 6’s Catholic Life page

We have gathered together this week for our first act of Collective Worship. We took part in a 3-minute retreat and spent a moment reflecting on the events of last year before we turned our attention to the year ahead. With the Parable of the Sower in mind, Year 6 discussed ways that they can plant their seed in good soil this year.

We have made ourselves familiar with our Class Saint, Thomas Aquinas, and our Jesuit Virtue focus for this half-term, Compassionate and Loving.
