🌹 Month of the Rosary: Pupil Prepared Prayer 🌹
The children reverently led the class in a Pupil Prepared Prayer to mark the beginning of the Month of the Rosary. Together, we listened prayerfully to the First Joyful Mystery, The Annunciation, reflecting on the moment when the Angel Gabriel visited Mary and invited her to become the Mother of Jesus.
Using rosary beads, the children prayed thoughtfully and considered Mary's faith, courage and trust in God. They then worked together to create a class rosary on the floor, helping them to reflect on Mary's "yes" to God and the importance of listening to God's call in our own lives.
During a time of quiet reflection, the children thought about how they can follow Mary's example by showing kindness, trust and willingness to help others. Through prayer, they considered ways to grow closer to Jesus and live as God's loving children.
The Hail Mary
Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Pope Leo’s Visit to Lourdes
Today, Beech Class watched highlights of Pope Leo’s visit to Lourdes on Sunday. It was a truly special moment for our school community, as Our Lady of Lourdes is named after this holy place. We reflected on the power of faith, prayer and pilgrimage, and joined Catholics around the world in celebrating this historic visit.
We finished by reflecting on Pope Leo’s message:
“Let us walk together as pilgrims of hope, trusting in God’s love and sharing that hope with others.”
Blessing of the Classroom
Today, Deacon Tim visited our class to bless our room and our Prayer Altar as we begin the new school year. He reminded us that during difficult times, we can turn to God in prayer and use our Prayer Altar as a space for quiet reflection.
Loving God, bless our classroom and all who learn and grow here.
Guide us through this school year with joy, peace, and kindness.
Help us to support one another and walk in Your light each day. Amen.
The children reverently led the class in a Pupil Prepared Prayer inspired by the Season of Creation and the story of Creation from Genesis 1–2. Together, we listened prayerfully to Our God is a Great Big God, reminding us that God lovingly cares for every person.
During a time of quiet reflection, the children thought about the beauty and wonder of God's creation and wrote their own prayers of thanks. They reflected on the many gifts God has given us, including our families, friends, school community and the natural world. Through their thoughtful prayers, the children considered how they can care for God's creation and be good stewards of our common home.
Loving God,
Thank you for the gift of your beautiful creation. Thank you for the sky above us, the earth beneath us and all living things that you have made. Help us to care for our world with kindness and respect. Teach us to protect the gifts you have given us and to share them with others. May we always remember that the whole world is in your loving hands.
Amen.
This term, Beech Class has enjoyed taking part in Dan and Emily’s One Life Music Open for Creation every day throughout September. Through prayer, singing and reflection, we have praised God for the gift of creation and thought about how we can be good stewards of our common home. The children have also enjoyed taking home our Prayer Bag, sharing moments of prayer and faith with their families.
"He's got the whole world in His hands." This simple but powerful reminder has helped us reflect on God's love and care for all of creation.
The New School Year
We had a wonderful start to the school year! We explored our School Mission, thinking about how we can love, learn, and live like Christ. We also researched our new Class Saint, Saint John Vianney, and reflected on this term’s virtues of being Compassionate and Loving.
Loving God,
Thank You for the gift of a new school year.
Help us to grow in wisdom, kindness, and faith.
Guide our words to be truthful and our hearts to be open.
May we follow Christ in all we do. Amen.
