Class Dojo
The children have now been given their log
in code in order to alter their avatar. They
will also be able to view their dojo points. In order to do this you need to:
1) Go to the class dojo website.
2) Go to the log in button- select student log in.
3) Press the sign up button.
4) Select your own username.
5) Select your age and password.
6) You will then be asked to type in your code (on the card given to you). Your parent/ guardian needs to provide an email address.
Once your parent/ guardian has given their permission via their email address you can access your avatar to alter their appearance/ view points.
Hindu and Buddhist Workshop
The children took part in a workshop designed to explore different faiths. They were able to
create their own music, dances' and try on traditional dress associated with Hindusim, Sikhism and Buddhism.
All children demonstrated respect when entering the temple and gained an understanding of different cultural values. We found there are many similarities between faiths. See if you can remember any at home- draw/ write about them
The children were all visited by firefighters from
Billesley Station. The firefighters spoke about their role in the local community. They also discussed how to stay safe in the event of a fire. The children were amazed at how quickly a fire can spread.
Further challenge: Discuss your fire safety plan at home- write about it/ draw a picture to bring into school.
Class Dojo's
The idea of Class Dojo's is to embed our school values within learning and the ethos of the school each day, encouraging children to become effective learners. These dojos are apparent within the class each day and are given to children when they are showing one of our values consistently or a characteristic of effective learning.
Note: These points have replaced house points.
How it works
Each child has an individual avatar:
-Points are given to an avatar by clicking on a value and the child's avatar (this then chimes, demonstrating a point has been given).
Praising when a Dojo point has been given
Please praise your child when they have been awarded a dojo point; as they have been consistently demonstrating our school values
in their learning.
Design a Poster
Can you design a poster about the wormeries?
We need to give our worms the correct scraps to eat. They use our scraps to make compost which we can use in the garden. Use the information below to create a colourful A4 poster reminding Mrs Holleran which scraps to save when she is preparing our delicious dinners.
Worms DO like - fruit and vegetable scraps and peelings, tea bags, shredded newspaper, egg box cardboard and crushed egg shells.
Worms DO NOT like onions, citrus peel (lemons, oranges etc), meat, egg, dairy foods and garden waste (e,g, weeds).
Give completed posters to Miss Grant by 3rd November. The best ones will be laminated and displayed in the kitchen, staff room and garden.
