Year 1 2021/2022

End of Year Prayer Service of Thanksgiving

We enjoyed role playing miracles Jesus performed.

During the World Meeting of Families in June, we listened to an online assembly about Celebrating Family Love. We wrote a prayer as a class for our families.

Year 1 Prayer for Families

Loving God,

We pray for our families

and ask that you keep them

safe and protect them.

Help us to love each other

and be kind.

May we walk in your ways.

Amen

Saint Patrick's Feast Day

On Saint Patrick's Day we attended Mass and learned about the life of Saint Patrick. Saint Patrick forgave the pirates that kidnapped him and took him away from his family. He used a shamrock to teach people about the Holy Trinity. We listened to the prayer of Saint Patrick.

L led a prayer service about Saint Patrick.

J prepared a thoughtful prayer service about the war in Ukraine

Prayer Service on Forgiveness

We wrote our own prayers of sorrow and used them in a prayer service about forgiveness.

Prayer Service on the theme of Saint Francis of Assisi

Our Classroom was blessed by Deacon Tim

We visited our Church to praise and thank God for all of creation. We also practised some simple actions to help us take part in Mass.

We learned who our House Saint is and about their lives.

We listened to the story of Creation. Then we thought of all the beautiful things we want to thank God for in the world.

Our first Unit is Creation

Saint Francis calls us all to look after God's Creation.

CAFOD Eyes of the World Art Project

The eyes of the world are upon us. We learned about COP26 and the important meeting world leaders are having in November to discuss climate change. We remembered how Saint Francis calls us all to look after the earth and creation.

New Beginnings Prayer Service
