A great day out at St.Chad's Cathedral in preparation for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Autumn Term.

Healing was the focus of our prayer service today.

Happy and excited to be here!

Mini Vinnies at St Chad's Cathedral!

OLOL Mini Vinnies at the Father Hudson’s Good Shepherd Mass, celebrated by Bishop David McGough. They presented £150 that they raised to support Father Hudson’s Care, a charity helping local people in need.

Bishop David said, "I can say today that the children are caring for them. Father Hudson’s cares for all these people around the Archdiocese of Birmingham, and the children through their school collections raise the funds that enable Father Hudson’s to care.”

Thank you to Year 5 at SS Peter and Paul, South Shields, for sending us a lovely card to mark our Feast Day!

Our Lenten Retreat- A Heart That Sees...

Our Lenten Class Prayer Service

Lent- a time to repent, a time pray! We explored the meaning of repentance and what this means during Lent. We then formed a class chain of our reflections.

Choosing Our Lenten Buddies! We will pray for our buddies during Lent.

As part of our Geography learning, we are studying South America. Did you know that 80% of the Brazilian population are Roman Catholic? We have made informative posters and leaflets about Carnival de Brasilia, a special Brazilian festival, which marks the start of the Lenten season.

Reflecting on the Reason for Season of Lent

The Feast of St. David: Year 5 came to school prepared to celebrate the feast of St David today! Many children brought in daffodils to lay on the Sanctuary for our whole school Mass, lead by Year Two 😇 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Our Learned and Wise Reflections: We take one of our reflections to start each of our daily prayers. This helps us to focus and live out the Virtues as best we can #Christatthecentre

Having learned about the parables and saying of Jesus in our RE lessons, we decided to think about how we can live out our favourite ones to helps us be more Christ-like...

Christmas: End of Unit Liturgy Planning

We have have been tracking the journey of the Holy Family in the Christmas story. Many of us were surprised just how far they travelled! We then listened to The Day the War Came, a powerful story about a refugee child. We were then inspired to plan our own liturgies for other classes in the school🙏🏽

Thank you to L-M.S and E-R.B for planning and leading our class collective worship this week.

L-M.S took they our class prayer bag home and worked together with E to plan a liturgy base date on Christmas. They included a prayer to St Michael (our class saint) and an opportunity for open prayer. Thanks, girls!

Advent- are you ready to welcome Christ?

Some powerful responses based on our class meditation...

Some Gifts are More Than Just a Gift....

We have been inspired the wonderful John Lewis Christmas advert. We have each thought about which special gift we would like to share this Christmas. During Advent, we are challenging ourselves to share our chosen gifts at home and school. We will be drawing up action plans to help us ensure we rise to the challenge. Watch this space!

Our Class Prayer Bag

November..... We are praying for our loved ones in heaven. We have lit candles in church. We are also thinking about all those affected, wounded and killed in conflict and war. We will remember them

October- The Month of the Holy Rosary

During this special month, we have been praying the Rosary together with the help of the Chaplaincy Team. We have placed beads in our prayer table to helps us with our prayers. Each bead represents a Haily Mary. As a class, we are praying many decades of the Rosary each day. When we have silently said a Haily Mary, we put the bead in another pot. Some. Gilder now have taken ten beads to keep in their pockets to support their prayer life outside of school.

Thank you girls for planning and leading a thoughtful and reflective liturgy to end our Creation unit. We particularly enjoyed being given the opportunity for open prayer.

We have made our own Canticle of Creation prayer chain. We reflected on the beauty of God’s creation and praised him for his amazing work!

Thank you Deacon Tim for blessing us, our classroom, our prayer area and our bibles 🙏🏽

Little Way Week 2018- Little Acts of Kindness with Great Love! 💓

Bible Detectives... We have been brushing up on our scripture reference skills. We are getting faster and more accurate by the day! We have been reading references and challenging our partners.

Thank you BM for sharing your AMAZING memories from the World Meeting of Families 2018. B even shook hands with Pope Francis! Wow!

Mission Accepted! We have been mind mapping ways in which we can follow our school mission statement this year. We had some many ideas!

New Beginnings.... We have reflected on what’s we are grateful for and how we can ask God to guide and support this through our new school year. We the night wrote prayers for our prayer tree which will share during the coming weeks.

We are Prayer Life Evaluators (PLEs). We evaluate our school Masses, liturgies and prayer areas.
