We love our weekly paired reading sessions with Year Two! This week, Rowan class students carefully chose online stories to read to their partner, based on their partner's interests. For their next session, Y2 will be reading their choice of texts to us- we can't wait!
A Very Sunny Day in Stratford Upon Avon
Interviewing Mrs Downey: In the Autumn term, we invited Mrs Downey in to school to talk to Y6 about her code breaking work during WWII. We were so impressed by her stories and experiences that a small group of Y5 and 6 children were asked to direct and film a short interview with her in the Summer term. The children independently researched code breaking and devised questions during project sessions at school. Mrs Downey was delighted to be invited in to join us again and was very impressed with the children’s questions and organisation. Keep your eyes peeled for the interview video, which will be on our school website very soon!
On Tuesday the 13th June, Y6 enjoyed a well deserved reward afternoon at the park. Our faces say it all!
Auditions for Our End of Year Play! Miss Boyce and Ashley (from Class Act Theatrix) were blown away by the talent and enthusiasm of ALL Y6 children. Well done, Rowan class! #jazzhands
Members of Year 5 and 6 took part in the Primary Urban Debate League at Shireland Collegiate Academy. A huge well done to all children who participated! They successfully reached the final. Great performances from all involved!

As part of our work on World War II, we invited Mrs Downey in to school to talk to us about her experience of code breaking. We were amazed by her stories and how she had to keep her job role a secret, even from her own family!
